About the Journal:
We are glad to inform you that we have started a biannual scientific journal on cow. The journal titled "International Journal of Cow Science" covers various aspects of cow, its related scientific facts and technologies originating from cow. This journal is first of its kind in the world. Friends, because of the constant chemicalization of the life process, residues of a wide variety of many harmful chemicals (pesticide, heavy metal, antibiotic residues, etc.) are constantly entering our food chain. This is rendering animals and man susceptible to many diseases. According to WHO, by the year 2020, twentieth century antibiotics will no more be the wonder drugs against pathogens, because of the development of multiple drug resistance among bacteria. Secondly, most of the allopathic drugs have deleterious side effects in the long term. This is causing deterioration in the health of the society day by day. In such a perplexing situation it is best to return to our indigenous system of medicine which is time tested and scientifically validated. Moreover, now a days, it is also getting increasing acceptance in international scientific community .
Ayurvedic medicines are formed either from plants, animals or metals. The ayurvedic medicines of animal origin are mostly from cow known as "Panchgavya" or "Cowpathy". The medicinal formulations of Panchgavya have not been validated as widely as other ayurvedic medicines. In this direction many laboratories in the country, including ours, is working on the efficacy of such medicines from cow products (milk, ghee, curd, urine and dung). In our laboratory, we started the scientific validation of cow products in 1996 with the identification of the immunomodulatory effects of Indian cow urine. However, the non-availability of a journal dedicated exclusively to the ?cow? has been felt at all levels. This also leads to scattering of vital information on this subject to different journals. To disseminate such information easily to the common man for the better health through cowpathy and to provide a common platform for the persons working on this topic, the ?International Journal of Cow Science? has been launched. To start such an endeavour a lot of efforts in terms of manpower and finances are required. Although, we have sufficient skilled manpower and initial cost bearing ability to assist in this act of kindness for the human and animal health to start the journal, but for its sustainability you are requested to donate liberally for the journal. For donations, the DD/cheque in favour of "IJCS" may be sent to the address given.
Your contributions will also save the Indian cow from extinction through wide publication of good information on cowpathy and its acceptance among scientific community. We assure you that your generosity will empower this revolutionary idea, thus making India self-sufficient and world power by 2020.
Cowpathy for global health.
Yours truly,
Editorial Board, IJCS
